Setting up contrast therapy at home
Contrast therapy alternates heat (sauna) and cold (plunge). Searches for "sauna cold plunge" rose from 2,400 to 8,100 a month between Jan 2023 and Jan 2026 (source), and brands are merging: Sunlighten bought Ice Barrel's assets and Plunge now sells saunas (Morning Sanctuary).
Plan the space
- Put the plunge within a few steps of the sauna door, on a level pad.
- Power: most traditional heaters need a dedicated 240V circuit; chillers usually need their own 120V outlet. Use a licensed electrician.
- Drainage and a hose bib near the plunge make water changes easy.
Budget tiers (typical published price ranges)

Other makers to compare
Not medical advice. Heat and cold exposure aren't safe for everyone (heart conditions, pregnancy, blood-pressure medication, alcohol). Talk to your doctor first. Check any model against current CPSC recalls; on Sept 17, 2026 Sauna360 recalled about 41,580 infrared and hybrid units (Finnleo, Tylö, Helo, Amerec, Radiant Health).
